Our Links With The Sports Department at Thomas Keble School

Since September 2013, Bisley Blue Coat School has been building strong sporting links with Thomas Keble School, which is our local senior school. Our PE and sports coordinator, Mrs. Batten, has been working with Thomas Keble School's Head of PE, Mr. Price, to develop our PE syllabus and create new sporting opportunities for our pupils. These include coaching sessions with Thomas Keble School's excellent sports leaders and competing in Cluster Tournaments at Thomas Keble School. These opportunities help to develop our pupils' sporting skills, build their confidence and help towards a smooth transition for those children who choose to move on to Thomas Keble School at the end of Year 6.

SportsHall Athletics December 2014

A team of twenty three Bisley Blue Coat pupils from Years 4, 5 and 6 took part in this cluster event. For many of them it was the first time they had competed at this type of event. The children were delighted to come second in the competition and everyone had a lot of fun, as can be seen in the following quotes.

"Last Monday we did Sportshall at TK school. The race I did was 4x1. When I got the baton I started to run my heart out. At first I was very nervous. I loved the atmosphere of it!"

"When we went to Sportshall, just before the over under race I felt a bit worried because it was my first sporting event there but when I went I had loads of fun."

Mini Olympics June 2014

Every Year 4, 5 and 6 pupil form Class 3 competed in this multi-sport team event. It was a fantastic afternoon of sport, enjoyed by everyone, and we are looking forward to this event happening again in 2015.
