You can find out about specific sports by clicking on the webpage links in the menu on left hand side of this page. Letters and reply slips about sports clubs and competitions can be found there as well.
Take a look at the 'NEWS' sections to keep up to date with the children's latest activities and celebrate their sporting achievements.
Please ensure that your child has their PE kit in school every day, including appropriate footwear. Although classes generally have PE lessons on designated days, we will be taking full advantage of the good weather during the summer and extra sporting activities are planned.
Please remember that long hair needs to be tied back and jewellery and watches removed. Girls wearing tights will need to make sure that they have socks to change into for PE.
Our children are extremely active during our P.E lessons and often get very hot and thirsty. It is advisable that your child brings a named water bottle to school which they can take outside to the playground during lessons.
The school is delighted to have once again been awarded the Youth Sports Trust Silver Quality Mark for PE and Sport. In order to achieve this Silver Quality Mark, the school has to fulfil high criteria and we are proud to be able to do this as a small school. We are pleased that we also meet some of the criteria of the Gold Standard, but it will be difficult for us to achieve that level at present due to our small number of pupils and limited facilities. However, we are going to continue to aim high.
Giving children a Sporting Heartbeat
Our logo design competition was judged by Mr Glenn Price, Head of P.E and Sport at Thomas Keble School, and sporting gift vouchers were awarded to the winner and runner up. Watch out for our new logo on our sports letters. Sometimes you might even see 'Hearty' will having a go at some different sports on our logo!
Sporting Opportunities Outside Of School
If you are looking for ways for your child to get involved in sport outside school, take a look at our new 'Other Sporting Opportunities' page. Information about clubs in the local area, special activity days and school holiday sporting activities will be posted there. The page will be updated regularly, so if you cannot find anything that you are interested in at first, please keep checking for new additions. Also, if you are already involved in a sporting club or activity that you would like to recommend for other children, please speak to Mrs Batten.
